Does anyone here have this?
I keep getting emails from Motley Fool offering me use of the service for £29 for a year.
The emails came in at £99 and it has gradually gone down to £29 in their latest email circular.
Back in January I purchased £2000 worth of National Grid Shares on the recommendation from their "junk" email circular. 709p at purchase now valued at 836

They must like me - started at £39.
A lot of FTSE shares would probably have done the same in the current markets. NG, IMO, is strong anyway and yes I do have some.
Usually once tips are "shared" the value has already been priced in by the big boys and us mere mortals are not likely to get "added" benefit.
If it seems too good to be true....
I think your book will probably be a better investment."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Dont waste your money. There are plenty of bloggers that give out share analysis for free. I follow about 50 blogs and you can always find 1-2 good ideas from them.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

I got these emails too. They are becoming annoying. Their latest one was saying you must get in on 'X' company it will do so well. Well I'm glad I wasn't paying for advice telling me to buy shares in what I already owned. Rather than follow tipsters read the financial press who is winning contracts, whose companys do you use and really rate, Who do you dislike, ask your self why you have these views, do you always see queues at the tills? Once you see a suitable contender check out their accounts are they growing, are the dividends growing, do the profits cover the dividend payout? I prefer to see Dividends covered by a factor of 2. If Motley fool are only giving out 2 tips a month thousands of people could be buying and pushing up the price although most of us are small fry compared to institutions.Solar PV cost £5760 (15/03/13)
FIT inc + Electricity saved £3746 (65% Paid back) Tax free

When the Fool started out I liked their style. Don't bother with managers, just use trackers and beat the market.
It seems they have realised that didn't make them enough money so they now sell tips instead. I'm always wary of someone selling recommendations and how much they make from selling regardless of how well the tip does.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Has anyone bought the Motley Fool Share Advisor subscription? I keep getting the emails now offering discounted first year and free second year.0

No - do you need it?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

29 isnt much but you could just say thats the fees on a ftse tracker which needs no advice and is less worry then a single share. Any company can end up like bp did by accident, they cant out tip that.
i read Questor, which is in the daily telegraph and you still have to decide if you like it; he tipped some gold mines and its gone down but its not his fault nor would it be motley's0 -
Rather than bother with that just buy the financial times paper now and again and use your own judgement and do your own research on the net.
I'd rather live or die by my own decisions than live or die by somebody else's.0 -
Sounds a bit like horse racing tipsters.
If these people really knew what would make money, they`d stick their own money in it and wouldn`t annoy everyone by selling their tips.0 -
Just tip every stock on the ftse, send 100 different emails to 100 people and one of them will be so amazed you guessed the one that doubled they'll pay you a fiver every week0
