Halifax Ultimate Reward Acc

Hi All,
Well 2 weeks ago I wrote to Halifax regarding being advised on taking an Ultimate Reward Account back in 2010 even though I was struggling with debt. At the time I was having a health check with a banking advisor regarding charges and overdrafts. I was told by taking out this account the charges and fee would be less, even though it was £12.50 a month. Over the year things got worse and I was set up on a Head Office agreement. In December 2012 Halifax rang me to arrange a new agreement due to the old one ending. The advisor stated that she was shocked to see me on the Ultimate Reward account as this was not helping my situation, she kindly changed it to a standard reward account straight away. Since then my finances have gotten better, no charges, fees so been able to pay £5000 of debt off in 5 month.
After watch the ML money show I wrote to Halifax 2 weeks ago. Today I got a call, they have agreed that I should not have been given this account. The agreed to refund me the fees in full for 3 yrs plus all charges and 8% interest. This means im getting around £870 within the next 5 days.
Just goes to show, if you dont confront them you get nowhere.
Thanks ML
