Google Toolbar - Error

hi there, need some advice if possible,

I keep getting the error that says "IE has encountered an error needs to close". It goes away when I uninstall my google toolbar.

I seem to be ok with the "old" toolbar but if I install it somehow it updates itself to the latest version.

Anyone know how to get the old version and keep it with no updates please.

It doesn't look like you can turn off the auto update.

Which operating system and version of IE is this? And what are you doing in IE when it crashes?

It might work if you use IE7 optimised for Google - http://www.google.com/toolbar/ie7/

Hello there

I have Windows XP with SP 2. I am using IE 6, I tried IE 7 but thought it was horrid.

I am just using the internet normally when it happens. I have AVG & Comodo running all the time and run Ad Aware, Spybot & Swat it weekly.

I liked the toolbar for the Spellcheck & Autofill which were handy.

Hi darling, You can download older versions of Google toolbar from http://www.oldapps.com/google_toolbar.htm I also disliked IE7 at first but think it's great after staying with it for a while.
