Redundancy Help

Options
My 58 year old husband is going to be made redundant, he hasn't worked at the firm very long so will probably only get about £3k plus a months salary. I have a very well paid job and if we cut back we can manage if he doesn't find a job. The questions I have is:

is he entitled to JSA?
should we pay off the mortgage from our savings?

Is there anything else he can claim? probably not as I earn

thanks everyone
