Premier Inn Liverpool - Moorefields or West Derby?

I am wanting to visit Liverpool staying o/n on 1st July and esp these hotels are £25 for the night on the premier saver.

The Moorefields hotel is in the city centre but the car park is chargeable. Does anyone know the rate for 24-28 hours? As probably arriving between 12-4 and leaving no later than 4pm the following day.

The West Derby one has a free car park, but 3.5 miles from the city centre. What is the public transport like and how frequent and time of last bus etc.

Depending on costs of parking and public transport and the frequency of the transport to/from West Derby PI will determine which one to book.

Last time I visited Liverpool was 22 years ago and didn't drive then.

West Derby is easy on the bus into the city, and they're pretty frequent during the day. I think they get less frequent in the evening (maybe half hourly?) and run til resonably late. But if you're doing a real late night out it would be just as easy to get a taxi

Taxi would be dearer than the parking though and possibly bus in and out if there are more than one person. Premier Inn West derby is opposite the Jolly Miller so easy to find and get to. I would plump for moorfields myself . What is the visit for ? there are 24h parking around the city . I know someone parked in a Macdonalds for a full day and ignored rightfully the ANPR ticket scam that followed.

EDIT you could use the free park and ride from stations outside liverpool . EG. Birkenhead North or Grove Rd or Leasowe. Train into liverpool is £1.60 one way and about 15mins (return is £2.80 but has to be the same day)

  • What day are you visiting ?

The Capitol Car Park is £5 per day at weekends but I am sure the Premier Inn in Moorfields will have a tie in with the NCP nearby. West Derby isn't too far away but personally as a local I'd recommend Moorfields.

Is the Capitol car park £5 for a 24h day ? Also where are you coming from ? driving may not be the best option
