Credit Card Refund On Concert Tickets

I'm looking for advice on credit card insurance/refunds. I recently spent £312 on 6 concert tickets using my Tesco Credit Card. The concert was in Manchester which is approx 2.5 hours away from our location. Yesterday we travelled to the concert but were caught up on the M56 in an extremely bad accident between junctions 15 and 14 Chester Services. The motorway was completely closed with no way of leaving it. We unfortunately had to sit there edging slowly towards junction 14 which was approx 3 miles away and took over 3 hours to reach! Having reached the services we were still approx 40 minutes away from Manchester which meant that by the time we drove to Manchester the concert would be nearing the end and we were therefore forced to return home from Chester services. Is there any way I would be able to claim money back? I realise it wasnt anyones fault as such but then it is a lot of money to lose when we have nothing to show. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Dylan

    short answer nope
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Doubtful to be honest. Perhaps you can contact the ticket providers and explain the situation they may give you a partial refund.

It's a typical insurance case, not chargeback/S75. That said, I have no idea whether any company offers this sort of insurance.

Unfortunately it's not really at the sellers liability, so it definitely isn't going to be at the credit card company's. The concert provider might give you a part refund, but otherwise I'd say the odds aren't brilliant.

    Nothing via card provider.
    Reason concert available.

Try where you got tickets from and see if they can assist.

Normally not a chance as typically the T&Cs state quite clearly thats its up to you to make it in good time.

I guess maybe next time take the train?

Or even the plane ( NB sometimes its cheaper to fly from London to Manchester than to take the train!)

Last time I visited Manchester for a concert it started at 7:30pm and I was there at 1pm for the exact reason stated here - I didn't want to be late due to any traffic. Did some shopping and visited a nice restaurant whilst we waited.

Better safe than sorry I always say!

Though 6 and half hours early is a different story all together lol!

Though I don't blame you for making a day of it!
