Started to get a rattle which seems to be coming from inside the drum during a wash cycle. Is there any way to get at it?

It might be that a coin has slipped between the drum and the outer casing of the drum. The only way to remove it will be to remove the rubber seal that surrounds the door and see if you can locate the coin. It's not any easy thing to do really.0

Hi,
What sort of rattle and when?

The rattle seems to be evident only during certain parts of the wash cycle. It is not present during spin.0

Our washer has been making a horrible noise, on and off, for about twelve months now. As it is about ten years old I am taking the view that it isn't worth getting it looked at as the cost can go to a new machine if and when it finally breaks. Performance isn't affected, it just sounds like we are washing a load of stones.0

I don't want to worry you but i thought the same when my machine started sounding like i was washing stones.....when i got round to getting the man out he told me off, the bearing had gone in the drum and water was leaking onto the motor and could have caused a fire. In addition to needing a new drum I had to have a new motor as well because it was corroding and the man told me not to leave it plugged in while i was waiting for the parts. Also I had a parts thingy so i only paid callout and he got no more money whether he put new parts in or not so I'm inclined to believe what he was saying. Mine worked fine tooSmokefree since 27-9-20070 -

That's odd, spin is where I'd expect a noise to manifest itself.
What machine is it and have you noticed when about during the wash you get the noise?
