We have had endless phone calls with RBS the money has been in our RBS euro business account for over 6 months and we transfered 200000 euros into our gold account, which has never been deposited, we have been speaking to the RBS complaints team for months we no joy and kept being told its being done, that is why we contacted the onbudsman, the onbudsman were told one month ago it was sent again and we still have no money, one more thing RBS said was the money we transfered was in a suspenion account and they had to check 24 of them, just another exuse0

So, the money isnt lost. It is just in an account you dont wish it to be in and RBS are not transferring it as per your instructions?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). As the money is still in the account and has not been transferred then it is not lost. A transfer would be an easy transaction to do unless there is a block on the account (suspected money laundering maybe?). In those cases, they cannot tip you off with the real reason but fob you off with excuses. Indeed, I am possibly pushing it by saying that here. However, given that it is only a possibility as to why a transaction wouldn't go through despite multiple requests, I don't think there is any harm.
Online banking can be flakey at times. I am with Lloyds and my mortgage seems to come and go on the list of accounts. Periodically, the credit card wont report to the online banking either. When you start looking at subsidiary provided products/accounts, you dont always get full data/accessibility online.
All you can do is wait the FOS to give you information.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. A transfer can be held up if evidence of source of funds or there are concerns of the validity of the transaction. It is one of the few things that can stop something going through and get fobbed off reasons for. Being in your account, it would be you they have concerns over most likely.
