• Don't use any of them, book the flights yourself using skyscanner.net, a hotel using trivago, and a transfer using a local company or suntransfers or resorthoppa

Thanks, yes I thought of doing it DIY style but hadn't explored it, thanks for the transfer suggestions.

But if you do as recommended above you are still using different companies and have no ATOL protection. If you book with lowcostholidays then they are a bedbank who sell hotel rooms to the major travel agents. They have their own stock of hotels which are cheaper than booking direct, plus you can add a flight at cost price, i.e. Ryanair - and you have the whole holiday booked with one company which is easier if anything should go wrong with your plans, just one company to call and the main thing is it is Atol protected.

I've used Alpharooms.com many times for hotel bookings. They are also now on Quidco. Never used them for flights as I prefer to go direct to the airline.

I used teletext for the first time in December (booked a holiday with Broadway Travel), & it all went brilliant. I'd never (apart from coach trips to Europe) booked online before, but I'd definitely do it again. Just make sure you're happy with everything before you book, don't be afraid to ring a few times, don't feel pressured to book right away, & double or triple check everything with the person your talking to. I usually write everything down before I ring so I don't forget anything.

Obviously I am biased but my suggestions are Holidaynights.co.uk if you are just looking for a hotel or lastcheck.co.uk if you want flights, hotel and transfers etc.

As others have said, yes it is sometimes cheaper to book flights, hotel etc separately but not massively and then you do have to consider the time and effort spent to do that and whether or not it's worth it.

Trivago and sky scanner are just comparison sites and are only as good as the companies that input their deals or have a link to them. If an airline or company isn't featured on there then you may not be getting the best deal after all.

My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are 6053 / P5638. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. ATOL numbers can be checked with the Cival Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.
