Son has been told he can't have JSA

Your adult offspring may help you with the odd errand, but I seriously doubt that the DWP/Jobcentre would discuss anyone's claim with anyone other than the person claiming unless under extremely exceptional circumstances!
All they require is someone's permission to do so, no reason necessary.0 -
waiting in for a delivery or a lift somewhere I can understand but effectively giving over your only source of income to someone else to deal with......no. Sorry, just don't get it, surely if you are not working you have plenty of time to do these things and look for work. Imagine a random question from a prospective employer and the (honest) answer is " my mum/dad sorted that out for me"!! Not so impressive.
Indeed but it isn't always easy to navigate the benefits system if you've no idea what they're talking about and as soon as it starts looking as though something's going amiss it's easier for a family member to step in rather than trot along to CA. A prospective employer doesn't have anything to do with it.0 -
Hi,
he's now filed out the correct! Jsa3 form. Went and handed it in this morning. He's now been told he needs to do work experience at a animal sanctury a bus ride away and he needs to do a 30 hours week for 13 weeks. I'm not sure how that's going to help, as he has no money apart from what he borrows - this seems pointless, its costing Me money to give this sanctury his worktime , we may as well not claim as in the short term i'm the one out of pocket. Is there an appeal system -that i/we can use.0 -

What do you want to appeal - surely not the opportunity to get work experience?
If he asks at the Jobcentre, or at his WP provider, they may be able to provide him with assistance with bus fares.0
