Some advise on a ppi claim

i have just had a ppi claim against Bank of Scotland (HBOS) pay out to a surprising sum of £5063.43 for loan i had with them in 2007 when i took out the loan i was given a credit card as well which Surprise Surprise had credit care (ppi) now i have claimed both of these items together and no longer have the credit card through them and i was living at a different address well now after paying out £5063.43 for the loan ppi with out any argument at all they are saying for the credit card claim which is only for £820.95 that the address they have on file for me is different and that i need to go into my local bank with either a passport or driving licence and proof of banking history! i have rang them and asked why they are happy to pay out £5000 with not question but for the amount £820.95 they need an address change. i am happy to go to my local Halifax and do this but its a 15 mile round trip plus £2 parking but not if i don't have too

If you want the money any time soon then I suggest you do as the Bank requests. I'm certain the £2 parking fee and petrol for the trip will be more than compensated for by having the £820 redress.

You cancelled the card, so you aren't a credit card customer of theirs any more. Why complicate things any further?
  • yes i am happy to go to the bank to change my details with them and i do believe they are just trying to see if they can string it out nay further but the the thing that is setting off the alarm bells in my head is them asking for banking history! i don't bank with them and not sure if they can ask me to bring in bank statements from a different bank is this against data protection act?

They are not asking for banking history from your current bank!

However, I'd try to dig out some old statements or letters from them to take along with your proof of identity. You can also take the offer letter of course.
