My wife is considering buying a tablet
If we get a WiFi only model - how does the app store work ?
Do you have to register a payment card or do you only get offered free apps ?

Some use the I store, some use google pay and some use the kindle store. For my iPad I buy iTunes cards rather than have a bank card attached to it. With google store I'm not sure as wa used it without a card attached and only eve got free apps. Kindle tablets are connected to an amazon account.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Another option is that if you want to avoid putting your credit/debit card onto your Google account, you can now buy prepaid cards in the UK which work much the same way as pay as you go phones. You pick up the gift card from Tescos or similar, scratch to reveal the code then enter it onto your device. Each purchase you make then debits the amount from this balance and you can top it up again as you require.
