Today is a NSD for me (first one managed this week)

    My to-do list is
    - put washing out to dry on line
    - meals from stores (2 out of 3 so far)
    - take pictures of stuff that I need to ebay
    - box up stuff that will not sell on ebay and take it to the charity shop
    - an early night! - I need to reset my body clock to wake up earlier so I can get to work earlier, and therefore leave earlier. Knock on effect that I'm not running late so therefore can walk to work rather than drive :o

I am planning this weekend to be NSDs and blast through some serious cleaning/de-cluttering/washing and tidying.

    Hi everyone,

Hope the weather is brighter where you all are, it's wet & miserable here & has been all day!

Thanks for starting us off LPP.
DNMS - Glad the new job is going well but sorry to hear you're under the weather.
Stacey - Good luck with the 10k race!
La e - Enjoy your spa weekend.

    Today I have/will:-
    • Food from stores - Salad for lunch with the last of the chicken from Sunday's roast
    • Dinner will be a free buffet as we're going to a wedding reception this evening
    • Making use of free water at work
    • Staying in for my lunch break to avoid spending
    • Log calories & exercise on free apps
    • Checked postcode lottery & birthday bingo
    • Charging phone at work
    • Heating off
    • Check online banking
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys
    • Declutter & flylady
    • Free exercise again tonight
    • DH not drinking at reception tonight despite the couple being more his friends than mine, so will save some money there & means he can drive instead of spending at least £10 on taxis there & back. I will try to not have very many but will need a couple for "dutch courage" as I don't know that many people very well :o
    • Decided to wear an outfit I already own for the reception tonight, hope my heels don't sink into any mud as I want to wear the same shoes tomorrow as we have another wedding reception to go to & I don't fancy trying to clean them when I get home!!
Hope everyone is ok & has a great, MSE day x

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

@Perni - I am hoping for the end of September, which was looking realistic. And was supposed to coincide with DS going to school. However due to a 2 month set back period, I suspect in reality the end of the year is more realistic now. But I live in hope :) Good luck to you. And also, really impressed with your rubber chicken efforts this week, still having some roast left from sunday? Thats brilliant.

@Determined New MS - Sorry to hear you have a cold, that cant be making concentrating at work any easier. Fingers crossed the drugs help, and I have to say, someone I used to know swore by a hot toddy at bedtime, i sneered, but having tried it after a series of sleepless nights have to admit, that girl was right!

@StitchingWitch - Sorry to hear you couldnt go to the allotment today. Out of interest, how does your situation work with your Stichingwitch business vs what you do for an employer? Are you hoping to quit the rat race and just do your business at some point?

Stacey - So impressed with all your fitness classes, no wonder you are an achy breaky lady today. Makes total sense to get a new door, its a long game decision :)

@Jessie - Well done on clearing your accounts that must feel good!

@Starnac - You sound like a lot of your jobs are the same as mine re packing kids classes gear :)

Well as for me, today has been the best of times & the worst to quote a certain Dickens.

    1) Best - I paid off a small but healthy chunk of CC1, and a little of CC2. Now on a nice round figure :)

    2) Best - I basically didnt eat anything till 5pm today as was just too busy, but when I got to Tesco, lo the whole chiller cabinet was bedecked with yellow labelled sandwiches, wraps etc, so I got a lovely southern fried chicken wrap for 0.45p reduced from £2.10. My tum was very impressed.

    3) Best - That payday feeling. Or rather OH's but its nice to feel like we have a few ££s in the bank after a very L-O-N-G month.

    4) Best - A good day for my business taking wise.

    5) Worst - After losing a key member of my small team only 6 wks ago, another has today informed me they will be leaving. I rely on my team so much as Im sure any small business owner does. Feeling kind of sad right now.

    6) Went to collect DS only to be told he's been hitting other children at nursery & they are really not happy with him. I feel that he is bored to be honest, hes pretty much the oldest left in his room & misses the stimulation of the older kids, particularly as he is currently an only. It isnt for long now (school) but it doesnt stop me feeling very guilty and unhappy to hear of his behaviour.

So, partly up, partly down Bob tonight. Red wine anyone :)

    Bob

I work for a small firm (6 of us!) of Financial Advisers doing the accounts and payroll. I started off doing a nine-day-fortnight, then dropped to four days a week and now three days a week. If DH had a 'proper' job I'd drop even further but he only does casual work and we can never guarantee he'll have work tomorrow never mind next week.
I'd love to give up the employment and just concentrate on the business which, as I expect you've gathered, is making bespoke corsets. I fall down on the advertising and marketing as I'm quite shy and find that side of the business very difficult. :o

    Evening all,
Any MSE activity was completely by accident today as have been busy all day entertaining my Mum & Dad.
*Posted final ebay parcel....by lucky hap it managed to go as a large letter, which meant I made a tiny tad more pence.
*Found 2p in my coat pocket, which wouldn't have happened if I hadn't needed to get my winter coat out today to cope with the cold weather.
*Mum brought 4 cat dinners for our Very Big Ginger Boy.
*Dad treated me to a cup of coffee in town.
*Due to driving rain, gales & January-type temperatures, did not stay in town long enough to spend any money apart from on the broccoli, carrots & milk that were on the list. Disappointing weather, but easier on the wallet....
*Acquired 12 magazines from my Mum......all nice new ones, so that'll be nice over BH weekend if I can't get out in the veggie garden.
*Also acquired globe artichoke plant (a planty gift!)
*Our discounted camping gear arrived......as planned, we used the money I made this month on ebay, & only went over by about 4 quid to get a toast maker, as toast on holiday is totally a deal-breaker for me!
*Free activity a.m. Gave my Dad a baking lesson, as he regrets never having learned the basic skills. He made wholemeal soda bread with chives, which we ate with soup for lunch, & very nice it was too. (He was well proud of himself!)
That's it from me today. Looking forward to BH weekend. Staying home to tackle some big house/garden jobs.
@ziggy - Have a good holiday. I love Cromer....in fact all of North Norfolk. There's a real quaint charm to Cromer & I love the crab shop! We are hoping we might get to North Norfolk camping this summer.

How interesting, to be honest I hadnt clocked your particular speciality, but now you've said the avi kind of gives it away:rotfl:

I would be happy to give you my two Bobs (lol) worth on marketing, advertising etc, as believe it or not, that is what I did for the 10 years of my career before I hopped over into the foods industry. Please do feel free to DM me if you'd like to chat further.

Up at stupid o'clock, woke at 3.30 with a terrible tummy ache and now cant sleep, off to work at 8 till mid day, Im going to need some industrial strength coffee to get through this day. Bye for now.
