Friday 24th May - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning all. It's grey and miserable here so scuppering my idea of spending most of the day at the allotment. :(
    My list so far:
    • Breakfast from stores
    • Made a flask of coffee when DH made a cuppa this morning
    • Fed and watered the chickens
    • Checked banking
    • Checked for surveys
    • Went to allotment at 7.30 to (belatedly) plant two beds of onions taking the flask with me
    I will also:
    • Finish off an underbust corset to put in the samples case
    • Start new underwear corset using the bones etc from an old one
    • Call a customer on my mobile using free minutes
    • Lunch from stores
    • Keep an eye on surveys during the day
    • Collect DGD from her school, then DGS from his school and all go back to DD's house for the afternoon
    • Possibly dinner from DD's larder
    • Have an NSD
That's my list. I don't know how much I'll get done as I'm shattered from an hour and a half at the allotment already!
    Have a good day folks!

Morning all, cold wet and miserable here today too.

No classes today, I can barely walk from Wednesdays Kettlebells and have pain in places I didn't know I had muscles but I am assured that it gets easier and once I have the technique, fat will fall off and I will get stronger.

I have just been talked into running a 10k trail/fell race in a couple of weeks. My cousin was doing it with her PT who has dropped out and offered me her place, she kindly said she didn't want the entry fee that she paid so I couldn't think of a justifiable reason to refuse! Best get running lots over the next couple of weeks !

I have just had a survey done to measure up for a new UPVC kitchen door, again not very DFW, however the door I have is a cheap wooden single glazed door that doesn't fit the frame properly and doesn't close, the kitchen is very cold and draughty. Although I am having to spend a few hundred pounds on a new door, its an improvement to my home that will improve insulation and reduce heating costs and will not be paid for on credit. I can not wait to be able to stand in my kitchen and be warm without the door flinging open with a gust of wind. Today is terrible !

    Todays list:
    Breakfast from stores.
Check banking, had my daily text message but need to check available balance and pending transactions online.
Lunch - yesterdays casserole made in the slow cooker
Visit friend for coffee this afternoon.
    Work 1700 -0300.

Have a good day all, much love and hugs

Payday for me - so have:

    - Paid £1,000 to my parents (£1,259 left which I intend to pay next month)
    - Cancelled one of my 3 (!) mobile contracts.

    To do
    - Cancel one more mobile contract so I just have one, like normal people.
    - Pay rent/bills of £427
    - Transfer monthly spending money (food, entertainment etc) out to ISA
    - Use left over funds to reduce parent's debt
Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!
    Deposit Saved - £6k (/£20k)

just had the post with a small ppi refund cheque. It is an interest cheque as the rest went towards the loan that I have paid off this morning! I just wish it wasn't chucking it down with rain as I have to go to town to put it in the bank. Just waiting on a cheque from Egg (canada square) and to hear about other ppi claim regarding my natwest cc. I should definatly be on track to be debt free by christmas!!!

    Hi there guys,

I'm on the train using wifi - £2 so not the most dfw thing... cheaper than a magazine!

Ploy to get a job on new team is well underway :) guy from other team agrees. Just need to get it all signed off :)

Got paid today and got quarterly bonus. Shifted funds about.

Crossed fingers and toes lodger wants to keep his rolling contract rolling...

Off to spa weekend with mum and sis - bday pressie from sister! :)

    Bought train tickets via quidco

    Updated money spreadsheet

    PAD to cc

    Applied for mystery shop

    Did survey

Decide what to do about increased credit limit on cc1. Might ask if theyve got any rate for life transfer rates if I move other balance across. Otherwise decline increased limit.

    Catch up soon. Big love!
