IIRC, the cam belt is the bit that transfers the turning of the wheels to the moving of the pistons in the engine, so it's what makes the car go!

We've got lots to choose from LW, take your pick: Glenmorangie 10, 15, Port wood, Madeira wood, Dalwhinnie, Cardhu, Laphroaig, Bowmore and a few more I can't remember!

    Afternoon everyone

Not posted for a few days, things not been good at home. My ds1(22) argued with my dh(his stepdad) wed night. Unfortunately things got out of hand and my ds1 lost his temper and lashed out at my dh. He was told to leave the house that night and not return. I know my ds1 has overstepped the mark and will not be able to return, but I am worried about him as where we live he has only been here for less than 12 months and we have no family nearby. He is currently staying where he works but has to pay £25 per night for his accomodation. Trying to get him a room to rent but the cost is outragious. He only earns on his apprenticeship £120 per week then if he works in the pub about £6 per hr. I think this has been coming for a few weeks but dh thinks it is all my sons fault, even though he has made things hard work, critiscing at every opportunity especially as he didnt want him there in the first place. We are all meant to be going to my db wedding on Monday in Bristol, so am abit apprehensive. I feel very drained, empty and tired at the moment with it all.

os today wm on and hung on airer. kitchen cleaned and thats my lot for today.

Jackie o - hope all goes well today.
Carol - well done on the job
Redruby - Have a lovely day with your dd.
Lou - Nice to see you.
BB - hope you are feeing a bit better.
JUlie - Make sure you are resting.
    LW & Molly ((hugs))

Hello and hugs to all who need/want one. Just popping in - will read the thread properly tonight but I actually wanted to post before it became evening LOL Got a fair bit of work today but schlepped to the library only to find out that the reading group is next week..... still, managed to do some shopping which was good. Dreadful weather though, managed to get home before the monsoon and winds really took off - and now it is blue skies! Can somebody tell me why it is nearly June and I have toad in the hole and a peach crumble in the oven? Surely I should be on salads by now.......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Good afternoon everyone, and its good news I have been pronounced out of remission and all clear.

My DD was with me and bless her she burst into tears.I saw the registrar and also the consultant and they are very pleased with how everything has gone since 2007 and in fact have offered me a complete reconstruction for the right side and a 'lift and a bit of a reduction on the existing one (bit of a droop as gravity took over with age :):)) I am walking around with a big grin on my face and have had so many texts and emails from folk I can't believe how lucky I am to have so many friends.I am just about to go to my DDs as we are celebrating with a meal out tonight, as its not every day you get given your life back.I should have my new 'boobs' after my holidays about September time The consultant was really nice and said its important to make you feel good about yourself as well as curing you.I am simply walking on air at the moment and although its raining here in north Kent I feel as though I am covered in sunshine
Thank you all who have been with me through the ups and downs of the past 6 years since my op. I can't believe how the time has whizzed by.My youngest grandson Mikey said this morning before school 'You will get a medal Grandma for being brave ' well trust me there were times when I certainly felt as though the Gods were dropping on me from a great height but now all is good and its definitely onwards and upwards .I shall raise a glass tonight to all of those who sadly didn't make the journey with me, and to those who did, along with all the lovely people on this site Thank you all for your love and support
    Love to you all

This story really can not be true !

When we take form people that really do have nothing, We lose our humanity,

    ==============

Police swoop on the homeless taking sleeping bags and food parcels in co-ordinated raids in Redbridge

Police swooped on the homeless, grabbing sleeping bags and food parcels donated by the public, in co-ordinated raids around the borough.

Adam Jaskowiak was one of the men targeted and said he pleaded with police to be able to keep his things but was ignored.

He was sleeping with eight other people finding shelter for the night in the former Ilford Baths in High Road, Ilford.

All of their belongings were bundled into a police car leaving the men, one in his 60s, stunned.

A police chief told the Recorder the operation was carried out to “reduce the negative impact of rough sleepers”.

But Mr Jaskowiak, 34, said: “They were just taking the sleeping bags and chucking out everything. I asked to keep it and the food, but they said ‘no’.

“I just grabbed as many of my things as possible and put them into a bag and ran.”

He was given the sleeping bag by the Salvation Army, Clements Road, Ilford, over the
winter months after becoming homeless when his friend died.

John Clifton, 26, corps officer at the Salvation Army, said: “I’m shocked and disgusted. Why would you take the only form of shelter someone has from them?

“We have tried to find out why they were taken and if we can get them back.”

After the raid happened on Thursday, the men went to the Refugee and Migrant Forum of East London, High Road, Ilford, for help.

Chief executive Rita Chadha said: “I am appalled because there’s no logic in this – it’s not as though if they take someone’s sleeping bag they will automatically walk into a house.

“It’s not a lifestyle choice and becoming homeless can happen to anyone.”

She also said the action will damage relations between the police and those sleeping on the streets.

Ilford Ch Insp John Fish said: “The public rely on police to reduce the negative impact of rough sleepers, this includes the need for us to assist in the removal of temporary structures, tents, and bedding from public spaces and other inappropriate locations.”
