    I've have THREE JSAgreements this year, one was to include the "look on UJM for two jobs every week" and another because the guy who wrote the second one didn't write a legal one, my adviser shook her head and wrote a new one.

    They can't just put anything on them, they must be lawful and reasonable.

    I was asking how job search progress was being recorded.
    If you can remember all those details of every job you have applied for, well done you (or you have applied for just a very few).
    Depending on the answer to the question, I might have given an answer.

    Not exactly hard to remember really. You apply for a job, you put so much time and effort into your application you're not likely to forget the details (then again, maybe you've never applied for a professional level job before).

    Their request may well be an attempt to get you to give access to your UJM account.

    Personally, I'd keep my own file of applications which I'd take to sign-on sessions as full evidence of what I was doing in my jobsearch.

    I can't see that they can get you to spend money on getting print-outs of everything if you don't need them for yourself. If they want copies, they could photocopy what you have (handwritten notes or whatever).

    Presumably your jobseeker's agreement doesn't say that you will provide print-outs of everything you do.

    If they don't like how you are recording things, get them to spell out what they do want to see.

    Entry level? I'm in a profession where I can work anywhere in the world and don't have to worry about being refused visa's etc, because of my level of qualifications, but yeah sure, entry level positions that's it.

    But seriously, if somebody has to write down the details, then that suggests to me that they've not really put their full effort into their application - or - researched the position/area enough. If you put effort into researching it, then you should know this stuff of by heart... After all, mid interview, you'll come across as pretty dull if (when asked) what do you know about the organisation, you say you don't know and you have to refer to your little database.

    (and I'm not unemployed atm, but I'm expecting to be for a few months in between positions - hence why I'm taking an interest in the views of people on this board).

    The people who keep saying that allowing the DWP to access your UJM account is a good idea.

    No one should allow their account to be accessed, it is stupid thing to do and those doing so are leaving themselves open to constant surveillance by the government.

    You have to demonstrate exactly what you have done to find work and a verbal "I handed my CV in to a few shops" won't really cut the mustard (I appreciate this is not the position in your case).
    Technically no you don't have to provide print-outs, you could offer to forward on emails.

    If you are doing everything you can to find work you should never get a sanction.

    The gist is no you can't be forced to provide UJM access but you can be forced to set up a UJM account. If someone said to me you can't have access I would ask why, and if they said I'm afraid it might be used to give me a sanction then it would make me think they are doing (or not doing) something to get a sanction.
