JSA Requirements

Does anyone know if its a requirement of your JSA to provide printouts of job applications? Ive been told to, along with having to fill in my diary sheet differently and I think its just a ploy to make life difficult for those who refuse to use UJM, to try and make us change.

How are you recording your job applications?
That is, how are you tracking what you have applied for, what you have said in each application, what the advertisement said about the job, what response you received, interviews offered and attended, outcomes?0 -

If this really how patronising the people who work at the job centre are and what they think of people? They can't remember these things themselves?0 -

Am assuming UJM is the universal job match. If you have access to the internet etc then, if you do not mind me asking, why are you so against the UJM? I find I have very very few jobs that I can apply for and are relevant but I can still update the 'activity' section so its clear I am still actively seeking work.
As frustrating as it is, we cant 'shoot the messenger'- folk that work in the job centre are usually just doing their job. They get frustrated also.X0 -

No.
I was asking how job search progress was being recorded.
If you can remember all those details of every job you have applied for, well done you (or you have applied for just a very few).
Depending on the answer to the question, I might have given an answer.0 -
I record everything UJM if they want print outs they can do it themselves, I haven't got a printer and not paying the 10p a copy at the library.0

Im writing it all in the diary sheets but they have suddenly started to find fault with whats written all the time, its all started since UJM went live and Im wondering if its a new ploy to get people to use UJM.0

I dont like all the uncertainty regarding how it will be used to sanction people. If Im more likely to get sanctioned using UJM, obviously I wont use it.0 -

Personally, I think there's nothing wrong with signing up to UJM if you're genuinely looking for a job and don't mind the fact your 'data' has become global, just don't leave the box ticked that gives them access to your account - that's the route to sanctions.
'Does anyone know if its a requirement of your JSA to provide printouts of job applications?'
No it isn't, unless you have specifically agreed to that in your JSAg.0 -
I take a written record, which complies with my Jobseekers agreement, with more than enough job applications and the dates and contact details, that is all you are required to provide.
I take a memory stick with a screen shot of my "sent" folder, which no one as ever asked for, but it isn't really necessary to do that.
If they want screen shots or anything other than a written record of your jobsearch get them to put it in writing, "a direction".
Then take this direction to the CAB and ask them if it is a lawful request, I'm pretty sure they will say it is NOT.
Are they victimising you for not allowing access to your UJM account? YES.0 -
I am registered on UJM but dont allow them access, I should have been clearer on that.
I have never had any issue with how I was filling in my diary until recently, my thinking is that they are trying to make it a real hassle to do it in writing so I give in and move onto giving them UJM access and doing it that way.
WHat happens with the JSA if they draw up a new one and I dont agree to it?0
