Rubbish Clearance-Skip alternative?

Options
Hi

Is there a cheaper option than hiring a skip?
If not, anyone know any good prices for skips?

Cheers

A friend of mine used a grabber lorry to clear away all the rubbish from the front of his house. It worked out much cheaper than a skip. You can also get jumbo waste bags as an alternative to a skip. I think you hire them from places like B&Q and you prepay the collection service. Again, a little cheaper than a skip.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

I think that would be Hippo Bags. I've seen them for sale at various DIY and gardening stores, but never used them.

It looks like you buy the bag, then pay to have someone collect it.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I've used AnyJunk a few times. They've been very good. They cleared a load of building rubble from our kitchen reno in about 10 mins and swept up after. Another time I used them to clear a load of wood and old tile fireplace (very heavy!). They cleared it from inside my flat in about 20 minutes. They also recycle what they can.

In London it's about £150 for 5 cubic yards, but probably cheaper outside of London.

    I'd use them again.

We are plagued with scrap metal collectors in our area, they also seem to double up as "clear up" merchants.

I've been doing some alterations, so have the new neighbours, everytime there's a pile, (waiting for it to be a skip load), on the front, they come knocking at the door.

You never really know which farmers lane they are going to dump it down though:o:o;);)

There you are Mr T, never mentioned !!!!!! once
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

There are some shady characters in the skip business, and whilst illegal, I suspect some are up for cash to avoid VAT on the cost.

Also, depending on the quantity you have to get rid of, an eight wheel grab lorry can be a lot cheaper than a 6 cu yd skip, and it can take much more. This is less so with a six wheel grab.

Depends what you call Rubbish, if it's bricks and concrete, then advertise it on Gumtree as hardcore. Someone will want it. If it is scrap metal a dealer will snap it up (again Gumtree) if it's timber burn it if it can not be recycled. That should reduce it down, to a cheaper job for the local rubbish clearance guy (see your local paper small ads)
My Mind wanders, if found please return.
