How do you download audiobooks to a tablet

Hi. Does anybody know how to download an audiobook to an android tablet? Can you download the whole book as 1 item or does it have to be via chapters?

I've had a search on this forum and mp3 seems to be a popular means of downloading.

Can somebody tell me what a Podcast is? Is it a small portion of a book rather than the whole thing?

It's so confusing!! I just want to download some FREE thriller/horror books for my holiday.

I'm still a technophobe so please explain in really simple terms

Assuming all android devices work the same (but they do have differences)
1) download and save mp3 (other formats may also work) audio book.

2) plug in android into usb port and hopefully one or more drive letters appear, or you get CARD appearing

3) if you have no music directory on the card, just make one. Mine is called SOUND

4) Install/Open your audio book player

5) point the player to the sound directory (configuration panel)

6) Select and enjoy

Thanks bluesnake. I shall have a go tomorrow. Do you happen to know of a site to download audiobooks for free? It's not so much that I mind paying - it's just that the ones I've seen only let you have 1 book/month but I'd like 3 or 4 to listen to.

I love reading but just don't have the time any more so to listen to a book would be perfect as I can do other things at the same time. Cleaning whilst being read to - now that would be different!!!
