Hi Folks
Can someone please tell me is it possible/can I use an Ethernet cable when I have Virgin in the house?
The reason why Im asking is because I want to do a job where I need to use a headset and a corded telephone in order to connect to the database of the company I want to work for, and they say an Ethernet cable is essential.
Many thanks

Hi,
Have you got a Virgin Super Hub?, if so then yes, this will have several ethernet ports on the back that you can plug a cable into. You may need a long cable if the Home Hub is far away from where you want to put the phone.
There is a picture here : http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/2011/02/22/virgin-media-uk-admits-to-broadband-speed-problems-with-new-superhub-routers.html
the yellow ports you can see in the picture are the ethernet ports.
You can buy a cable from here :

Hope this helps.

Hi Pete
Thanks for the reply, - I don't think it is a Superhub that we have unfortunately. I"ll ask OH tomorrow to see what one we have lol.

I just have 'normal' virgin and the only way to connect is via ethernet.
I added my own wireless using a router.0 -
We have the same setup, ethernet cable from modem to router, ethernet cables and wireless from router. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I wonder if the OP has a router like previous 2 posters.
The superhub is the black thing almost a square shape with curved edges.
If you do have a router then yes you could what yu want OP0 -
Yes I have a black box with slightly rounded edges, but not sure if it's the Superhub that Pete mentioned above?
