I sold an item on Ebay on 14th March 2013, the buyer received it sent me an email to say thanks and it was working great also stating that they would leave feedback for me.
I heard nothing more inc feedback, until today. I am returning the item as it is no longer working, I forgot about it and just left it lieing around. Send me a refund Thanks......
Can someone pleae advise me on what to do...the item was brand new and working fine, they state it is now broken 2 1/2 months later.
Do I have to refund ? can the open a claim through Ebay or Paypal ??
Thanks.

I'm sure somebody will correct me but they have 45 days I think fromthe sale date to open a case. Anything past that tell them to jog on.
Well ignore them and add to your blocked list.
I think they have used the item, broken it/no longer want it and are taking their chances on a refund. If I bought something and it stopped working, I wouldnt forget about it and leave it laying about.:heart2:Mummy to a beautiful little girl:heart2:

Under the new case system in Ebay a buyer may have an infinite number of days to open a case. However it can only be escalated up to and including the 45th day.
The old 45 day rule for opening has been abandoned in favour of allowing a buyer/seller to correspond in order to fix problems that may occur.
AFAIK the PS boards haven't tested the escalation after 45 days, but some are reporting cases being opened over 100 days from purchase.0
