Private Parking Charge gone to Debt Collector! Help please!

I have received a letter from Roxburghe Debt Collections agency for £160 on an unpaid parking charge notice in a private car park. I was not actually driving at the time, but the person who was did not exit the vehicle and was picking up a passenger from her workplace. She was in the private car park for 18 minutes. I am the registered keeper.
So far I have ignored all correspondence but they have managed to obtain my mobile number (don't know how!) and call me asking to confirm my details, which I would never do anyway! I have not told either company anything. Any advice would be very appreciated!

Can you not block the number that calls you on your mobile ? Anyway you have a few options, one is to ignore this scam completely, but it is at the minute chance of excel doing a small claim. You could name the driver of the vehicle as its not you.
We and pepipoo.com can help with a defence if it goes to the small claims, if you name the driver we can help with a defence if its England or Wales with popla the independent appeals. If you are not in those locations you just ignore the scam. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Debt Collectors have no powers, no authority and cannot simply turn up at your doorstep to demand money. My advice would be to try and block them, but if they keep ringing simply tell them (talk over them if needs be) that the alleged debt is denied and that they should refer back to their client. Also tell them they are to stop calling you, as any further calls will be regarded as harassment and reported to the Police. If they keep on calling, keep a record of times and dates, as you may have a case against them0

Thank you very much, I think I will take the ignore route and block the number, although they can still send text messages. If it did go to a small claims court I would name the driver and hope the claim would have to restart! I am so glad you called it a scam Stroma, as they must have been watching the vehicle and know that no one actually exited! Feels really cheeky to be honest, there was no where else to stop outside of the workplace.0

Does this list mean that their licence to pursue any credit is due to be revoked? I feel even better for ignoring them! Brilliant!0
