Tax Credit Renewal and SMP

I'm new to tax credit and need a little advice regarding tax credit renewal and stat maternity pay. I believe you take the first £100 a week off smp but is it only for the smp element? I was off for 39 weeks 6x 90% pay and 33x basic smp pay. Does the £100 only come off the 33 weeks?
