    Thanks for all of the responses, glad you know it's not just me although it is bad that the practice is so common with some of the chains.

    Connells, don't get me started on them! Made the mistake (as beginner FTB) 2 years ago of telling them our income and the budget we were working to, to then be given loads of houses over £50k more than we'd stated and forced to see their FA too.

    I decided to cancel the viewing/appointment we had for Saturday with Sequence Homes as we've had an offer accepted on another property with no chain :D.

    The branch manager tried to be apologetic and cover his back when emailing me back, but basically it was a lie. The well heard term of 'the customer is always right' obviously doesn't apply in their case :o

    Well I thought it was time for an update. We finally completed on our purchase last week, exactly 13 weeks on from the offer being accepted :)

    Still can't quite believe it! The vendors dragged it all out due to one of them being in Australia and sending documents via slow mail (ship) so Exchange took 12 weeks, but we managed to completed only 1 week later.

    Now the DIY tasks begin!
