Parking Eye - Parc Llandudno

I travelled with my parents (both in 70's) to Llandudno on May Bank Holiday, we parked at Parc Llandudno and went to get a Pay & Display ticket only to notice that 2 hours were free. We spent almost 2 hours wondering around the shops, had a drink in Debenhams and purchased goods in several stores.
Within the 2 hours we returned to the car and decided to stay longer and have a walk along the promenade, we put around £4.00 in Pay & Display for another 2 hours and returned and left the carpark after around 1 hour 40 minutes.
My parents have now received an invoice from Parking Eye which I have told them to ignore, my Mum is worrying about it and yesterday they received their 'reminder' . They have not kept the Pay & Display ticket but surely there must be some kind of record on the machine as you have to enter your registration.
Any tips on how this can be voided (we live approx 60 miles away from Llandudno) to prevent any more worrying by my Mum would be greatly appreciated please????

Send an e-mail to the newsdesk at the North Wales Weekly News explaining what happened and how you and your parents are so disgusted at being scammed like this you'll never set foot in Llandudno ever again. They have published stories like this before so they might well be interested in this.

Also appeal to Parking Lie on the grounds that you don't believe they have the authority to form contracts with motorists at Parc Llandudno and demand a copy of their contract with the owners and also a POPLA code.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us
Baby we were born to walk

Bank Holiday weekend was two and half weeks ago, BPA Code Of MisConduct specifies 28 days to appeal so not out of time.

Write a letter from the registered keeper saying that YOU were driving and giving YOUR name and address (or if it wasn't you and you want to be truthful, respond with a one-liner giving the scammers the initial and surname of who was driving and give YOUR name and address (even if that person was the registered keeper and was your Dad or Mum, at least then everything arrives at your house from then on).

Then when you or the 'driver at your house', receive the 'Notice to Driver' then appeal with copies of the receipts and explaining that a P&D ticket was purchased.

Hook this away from your parents or they will be scared and pay. It's a scam so deal with it yourself to prevent them being ripped off here. You can win at appeal but don't leave this up to the older generation who probably think they actually have a parking ticket. They DON'T.

If you get a rejection letter come back here & we'll help you word a winning POPLA appeal to quash it (POPLA applies in England Wales and is a second stage appeal we know how to probably win; read about it on the forum). IGNORE WAS OLD ADVICE SO YOU ARE LUCKY YOU ARE STILL IN TIME TO APPEAL.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
