Can I connect my laptop to my mobile internet data connection?

for a short turn solution it'll be fine, but becareful how much data you are using.

you use alot more data on the pc as you would on a mobile.

when i didn't have a connection for awhile i used a mobile broadband with 5gb limit. And even being careful what i used and make sure nothing on the pc was trying to update in the background, i still used the whole 5gb
