Hi,
Now that oh has his new laptop I need a bit of help and advice please. I'm looking for a small netbook. Must be lite, 11 inch screen. Have hdmi connection and be able to cope with a lot of browsing with multiple tabs open. I shall also be using it for administration. Letters and emails. Will be looking for a disk drive too sometime soon so advice on which one to get would also be welcome.
Ideally need to buy it this weekend before money gets spent on other things.
Cheers

What about this one, similar specs to the one you are looking at, but lighter.

Hi
Thanks for the suggestions.
I stuck with the Acer and ordered it from John Lewis because of the 2yr free warranty and got it last Saturday. Have found it a bit slow at times and I'm not impressed with the way it copes with youtube. Windows 8 has been a bit frustrating, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The multi gesture touch pad seems over sensitive and works when it wants to.
By yesterday the fan had become really loud and the motor changes tone and I have decided to swap it for something else.
John Lewis are giving me a discount on the HP DM1 4401 ex display so I'm off to return the Acer and collect the HP tomorrow.
It's just a slightly better spec than the one in the link from Cisco but working out only slightly more expensive.0 -

Slightly more expensive, at how much? If the ACER was £260, is it just a straight swap? Are they giving you the extra 12 month warranty on a ex-display unit?0 -

Still get the 2yr warranty and cost is £264 so only £4 to pay. Apparently they aren't having any more in so it was that or pay much more for something else. Could have got a refund and gone else where but would only have got a 1yr cover.0 -
Well a quick update now that my HP is up and running. JL price matched Argos even though the spec wasn't quite as good and I got the HP for £240 instead of £350. Always worth using their never knowingly undersold policy and getting a 2 yr warranty. Well chuffed
