New en-suite bathroom estimates

Hello,

I was wondering if someone would be able to give me some idea about the cost of a new en-suite bathroom on first floor,

basically I don't have any bathroom on the first floor so want to put down a small bathroom on this floor (roughly 1m x 2m).

Location of this bathroom will be above the kitchen where combi-boiler is so getting the hot/cold water should not be a big issue.

Main bathroom is just next to the kitchen so getting a waste connection is not that tricky (might not be very straight forward but nothing which can not be done)..

only thing is that we are trying to save the space so we might not get every thing of the standard size i.e. small corner basin, small showe 700cm one rather than standard 780-800cm one, smaller wc...

everything else like tiles, taps, extractor etc in average price range..nothing very posh/expesive

Can someone please tell me roughly how much this will cost me?

Thanks

Ask a sensible question then you will get a sensible answer.

Your question simply cannot be answered other than saying from £500 to £20,000.

You say you don't have a bathroom on the first floor and in the next sentence say you want to pull down an existing bathroom.

My advice will be to call 3 installers round to give quotes. Compare them. You will have a much better idea of your needs then post the options up here. Advice will flow.

PS: I'm trying to be helpful not an !!!!!.

I know its bit open ended question but was looking for a simple answer from someone who had this small en-suite done or some advice from a person who does this kind of job and I did mention that everything in normal/average range...

I dont know where did I mention that I want to pull down an existing bathroom??? Only thing I mention was ground floor main bathroom is next to the kitchen to give the idea that getting waste pipe connection may not be difficult...

I have already asked couple of guys to come around and quote me but without knowing ball park figure it's difficult to judge the quote and that's what I wanted to know...thanks anyway

Are you sure you want the bathroom to only be 1m x 2m? You'll struggle to fit a bath in that space - maybe a shower, just!

Yes you are right...we are thinking about shower only because we don't want to loose much room space and hence small ensuite sort of bathroom but put a door in landing area hallway so it can be accessed by everyone.

I have received an quote from one of the supplier and it was around £9500 (labor + material)...which personally I think is quite high considering the size of it...but will try to get couple of other quotes and see what they come around.

Agree that is high. Keep getting quotes. The actual cost of material and sanitaryware is easy to find out using the web. That gives you a good ida of the profit for your installer.

Worth self project managing. Do your research, decide your spec very precisely then you can really compare quotes.
