Need to watch ESPN America from 1st August

I hope this is in the right section, but couldn't think of anywhere else to put this query.
My husband and I enjoy watching Major League Baseball on ESPN America through Sky. Today we received a letter from Sky stating that the service is to be cancelled as from 31st July . This is a real blow as it is just halfway through the season and we were looking forward to the Allstars and World Series matches later on.
I have looked at the ESPN site and although there is an online player available, it doesn't seem to include MLB, but only college matches.
Does anyone have any idea or recommendation how we can watch live MLB on-line? I have seen some sites that offer it for free but they look really dodgy.
We don't mind paying a reasonable subscription for the service.
Hoping someone can help out here.

Two options
(a) Wait and see what coverage BT move onto their channels, probably the re-branded ESPN.
(b) Go direct to the MLB. MLB.TV is available to stream over the internet from the league site at mlb.com - so long as you're outside the US this should be available as live streams and an on-demand archive. You'll just have to watch the usage on the Broadband as it should be EVERY game.0 -
MLB.TV often have special offers, I just got the premium service half price for the remainder of the season, cost me about £38.0

All games live.Just be sure to use an adblocker and resist all downloads offered/required.
Great site for all sports. it's free as well.0 -
I'm another MLB.tv guy, better idea to plump for the premium version though as you're not restricted to broadcasts or anything & if you have a PS3/Xbox 360 you can use them too. (PS3's a bit of a workaround, but it's not overly fiddly) Plus it's only around $140 a season for full coverage which probably works out cheaper than you're currently paying ESPN.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

hey, just out of curiosity is there anyone team you follow and how come ?
my cousin lives just outside of Detroit so i follow the Tigers and Red wings (NHL) was also extremely lucky to be visiting my cousin when Tigers where playing Kansas City at Comerica Park last September and witnessed Doug Fister break the American League record for most consecutive strike outs in a game.0 -
Yankees, went to a couple of games back in 2009 and haven't looked back since, still say the loudest noise I've ever heard in a sports stadium was the moment 40,000 people realised Luis Castillo dropped a popup off the bat of A-rod!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

Thanks to you all. I will certainly be looking at your suggestions.
I love baseball because it is easy to follow, fairly fast moving, and in general very friendly. The players have a really sporting attitude, fans all mix together and there is rarely any violence unless you count the antics of the coaches disagreeing with the referees!
For what it is worth, my favourite team is the Boston Red Sox, with the Mets just behind. I don't really mind who I am watching though as I just enjoy the game.0 -

See I find the fact that it's often quite leisurely to be one of the more enjoyable aspects, 2-3hrs (well, 5 when we play Boston!) just chilling & enjoying a game!
Watching ejections though is hilarious, no one does it quite like Lou Pinella, Bobby Cox or Tommy Lassorda!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
