My Barclaycard Cashback credit card shows a debit card payment made online within 2 hours. The exact time must vary on time of day done and other transactions which are processing as on on occasion I paid, then went to send them a message re: new card and then back on main screen, it'd been credited already, available to spend.

...its do do with the companies admin dept

i had a problem with studio saying i was late paying even though i paid 2/3 days working before due date via immediate payment ( 2hrs timescale if paid on weekday ) and they take up to 4 days to credit to their account making out i pay 2days after due date

but if it is the first time with Tesco id write and ask them to review it as you did pay on time
  • I have been doing faster payments to Tesco credit card. interesting that some times the payment leaves the bank and the bank says paid yet can take days for tescos to credit. happened today . asked why I had zero credit when I made a fast paymen t last week. was told they do random checks and my payment was being held for 6 days. great system . this isn't the first time this has happened so I suspect there is money to be made by not crediting fast payment straight away. only because I stayed on the phone and caused a fuss did they credit it today .

Interesting but the important thing is for you to not leave payment till the last minute!

Nevertheless if you do pay last minute phone up and chase it up!
  • Its not a last minute thing. That's not the point. I need to pay it off by the 4th Feb but paying now as we use Tesco's for the points. Once this is paid off I can then make another purchase. So made a fast payment very early so I could then make a larger payment next week. So was surprised to see no credit available. I Never leave it to the last minute but have done this many times to maximise points. Tesco calculate their points on spend not on end of month credit used so this is a good way to maximise points. This delay happens too often to be random as they suggested
