Travel Insurance Advice

Options
I have been trawling for hours trying to find a suitable travel insurance policy for us.

We are going on a 28 day trip to Aus/NZ and one night in HK on the return. We need cancellation cover for about £7500 per person and many do not cover this sum insured (clearly I will be comparing all the other sums insured)

hubby had a coronary stent fitted last year, after a heart attack , has been fine since, but obviously it needs declaring, getting quotes for £500 upwards, or much cheaper quotes from companies with poor online reviews so cautious.

I am going to try BA, but we need to ring them so cannot do online, meanwhile can anyone recommend any companies who do cover the relevant sum insured .

I got a quote from staysure as per the recommendation on the travel insurance pages on here, and that was great at £98 but only £5K cover for cancellation. Also tried lv after reading another thread, again they wont go over £5K

Advice appreciated.

If you use the Defaqto comparison tool, it shows you which companies offer cancellation cover that meet your needs. E.g Post Office Premier Travel policy. You would need to call companies to find out about medical cover.

Freespirit Travel Insurance by PJ Hayman is worth a try.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I did a quick quote on Staysure website and think that the £98.00 premium does NOT cover the medical condition described (The premium of £98 was obtained for two people aged under 65 for 28 days to Australia) (I obtained an additional premium of £88 or so to cover it but obviously I don't know the exact medical details).
