I'm planning to buy Sony Playstation 3 12 gb for my son.
It costs £190 from Sainsburys and wonder if this is a good buy with ps4 due this year.
I'm not sold on him having a games console but wanted to know any views on this such as games( cost and suitability for. 13 yr old etc)
Many thanks

Lots of games for that age group, huge back catalogue. Quite a few games will be on ps3 and 4 so the ps3 has a fair bit of life for new releases even after the ps4 launch. Its also still one of the best blu ray players on the market and up scales DVDs excellently. Not to mention iPlayer, 4od etc etc. The ps4 will cost a lot more initially.0

That deal is expensive, you can get the same console with Little Big Planet 2 (an ideal game for a 13 yo) for £150 at Game.

this may not be the best deal around, but the first one i looked at, which was already cheaper than the sainsburys one.0 -
I believe the bundle you are looking at contains at least one game with an 18 rating so do keep that in mind as well0

Definetely look into getting Playstation Plus for him, £39.99 for a year subscription ( cheaper if you shop around ) and gives you access to 3 or more PS3 games a month.
Acts as a rental service, once your sub expires you loose the games - but certainly a good investment.0
