LOL. It was a thread about something that got resolved ten seconds after I posted it!

An embarrassingly simple DIY question... :o

Far less embarrassing to have left it there, tbh ;)

We're all going to have a field day wonderng what you actually said...

"I'm a regular poster using another ID....."

"I'm sorry if this is too much info, but [reams and reams of 'too much info']

    A combination of the above.

    And so on. :D

Much - much - less embarrassing to leave a DIY question on the board for our perusal.

You'd probably have found that you got a lot of replies along the lines of "OMG!!! I did that too!!" :rotfl:

OK, OK. The charity thing swung it. :o

I was asking how to get red wine off a carpet. Googled it in desperation and found the solution straight away (soda water - happily, I had some and it worked) :o

Tropez - if you still want to do it, then I'll nominate the Samaritans, as they have helped me so much lately. Thank you xx

    What did I tell you?

"OMG!!! I did that too!!" :o

    Quick response is critical too.

Salt doesn't work as well as soda water (in my experience).

Glad it worked out for you  (those glasses do not contain red wine :o)

Blu Tac, No More Nails, and occasionally a hammer and nails are very useful things to have around for a myriad of uses ;). Oh and WD40 for things that squeak.

WD40 makes things move if they should, and don't.

Duct tape stops thinks moving if they shouldn't, but do.

    Red Wine?

My Sister in law would get it up without leaving any trace - with just a straw...
