Did you try going to this website and uploading the PDF?

    http://www.extractpdf.com/

After you've uploaded it click on 'Text' and you can copy and paste the text from the document.

Not sure where to find the snipping tool mentioned in this forum.

Which version of Windows do you have?

Try PDF-Xchange Reader. Open the document, which sounds like it's a scanned image, and click Xchange's OCR button. Then select the Text tool and you should be able to select, copy and paste the text to a Word document.

But I don't think the snipping tool works on PDFs that have been locked down. At least not with the most recent version of Adobe Reader (I did wonder if an older one might work).
Windows has its own snipping tool in Accessories. It can select anything that's on screen and save it as a jpeg image. Any text in the snip can be converted to editable text that you can copy and paste. To do this you can use a free online converter such as http://www.onlineocr.net/

How do wecopy any full or partial letters onto the Forum. As far as we can see you can only type in your own script and not add anything. We know this can be achieved but we have not managed it yet. There is probably a very simple solution so an "Idiots" guide would be appreciated. Thank you for anybody than can help.
