Painting bathroom taps and bath grab rails

I got a bathroom which has gold coloured taps with that plug hole plunger in between mixer taps, plug holes and also in bath two grab rails built in to corner bath. This wasnt by choice got it with house but the grab rails are going funny like the grab rails going oxidation also tapes are loosing there colour more silvery gold now. Beside full replacement has anyone tried painting these and what paint do you use? Obviously best way is replacement but someone who did bath stop access without ripping up tiled bath cover to get access and I dont think you can get grab rails now

It does seem possible you can paint them

You could paint but it will probably flake off unless you do a fantastic prep job. Not really worth trying.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !

i doubt painting will work tbh

grab rails are freely available although you will have trouble getting any other than white or chrome
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Thanks for your help. I can only find grab rails you add later these have two either side of bath. I am thinking of removing the tiles around the bath, cant seem to find a similar bath online that would have a new side panel, so I am getting a quote from a carpenter to fit tongue and groove around bath along with access panel.

    I posted some pictures

slight confusion, they aren't called grab rails, they are bath grips

Thanks no wonder I couldn't find them. :) I am hoping to sell house in next few months so bathroom lets it down cant really afford to spend thousands but might if cost isnt too high replace taps, plug holes and bath grips.

I selling house less than what I paid for it 6 years ago despite spending a few grand on house, log burner, some new flat roofs etc its probably worth £140k and I paid £150k. Oh and also gold toilet handle. Can you replace them easily? My main concerns is getting to bath grips and bath plug hole and tapes. Like I said I am hoping to get the tiles removed around bath and go for tongue and groove

Actually painting is not a problem but can be quite fiddly to do due to odd shapes and restricted access

Clean and degrease the surface to be painted

Key the surfaces very lightly with some very fine emery paper

Use an etching primer such as 'Hammerite special metals primer'

Paint on your preferred undercoat and topcoat.

The secret in painting any non ferrous metals is to use the correct primer.

It's a personal thing, but I'd prefer tiles to wood anyway - you might be better putting that money towards a new bath and/or fittings? I can't see how you'll change the taps, rails and plughole without removing the bath for access anyway?

Toile handles are easy to change, unless the cistern is enclosed

Some bath grips are attached with small grub screws, and can be easily swopped . Look at the side of them

I would leave the tiles on, just re-grout and give them a good clean, tongue and groove I always feel is put up to disguise problem areas, just my perception.

Thanks for all your help. I like the look of tongue and grove if I am honest my neighbour just hard theirs done abet around bathroom. I was going to get a new bathroom in a few years time when I pay mortgage off but decided we want slightly bigger house and a bigger garden. We love this house but only have a small garden and kitchen. We are not in a rush to sell as there seems to be a shortage of houses in my area that fit our criteria.
