What does collective consultation mean?

I've just opted for voluntary redundancy and in the notes that they have been sending out for the past week, it mentions collective consultations being started on certain dates. What exactly is that? Does it apply when you are going for voluntary?

    Hi,

My company is going through redundancy and have just finished collective consultation.

From my understanding, it is a legal requirement for a company to have consultations with the people affected when that number is more than 20 at any one establishment.

So we have elected employee representative to meet with the directors who answer questions on a group basis before you have your own individual one.

I think I'm right in saying that.

  • Thank you. I did google it quite a bit and I think you are right from what I've seen.
