Cover when using Forgin Travel Agent

I am planning on booking to go to Africa with a South African Travel agent. Obviously this will not be covered by ATOl/ABTA etc as not form the UK and costing best part of £10000
Has anyone done anything similar? If it is all on my VISA card is ito 100% covered for any problems?
Are there any stand alone insurance policies I can take that would cover everyhing?
