British Gas Security

Just moved into a house with a British Gas DSC Classic PC1565 installed in the property. Last occupier left the master code to stop the annoying bleeps when they went off, anyway the bleeps are going off every 20 mins now.
I called BG and got through to Dyno- Security, who said they would dismantle it for between £80 and £140. We are old age pensioners and don't have that sort of money.
Does anyone have any clue how we can dismantle the alarm ourselves.
