Reclaiming Bank Charges without Account Details

Approx 10 years ago I opened a Natwest bank account and I ended up never using it. Unbeknownst to me, they had opened me an account which had a £15 per month charge on it which ended up taking me overdrawn as I hadn't every put a penny into the account. Fast forward a few years and I ended up around £500 overdrawn due to their spiraling fees.

What I want to know is, a) do I have any chance of reclaiming this money from them? and b) does it matter that I don't have any of the account details but can provide them with the address that I was at at the time of opening the account?

I would really appreciate any advice you offer.

    a) no, the banks won the court case, its only for hardship cases (now) and even then its based on their goodwill gesture
    b) it doesn't matter, they will argue you signed the account opening forms thus you had all the information at your disposal, especially as the Natwest fee based account from that time had key points documents highlighting the benefits against the fee.

Let's rewind a few years to the date you first received your first statement that would have included these charges.

Did you contact the bank then?
If so, what was their response?
    If not, why not?

Lets rewind a bit further to the day you opened the accoount.
How did you manage to open the account without depositing any money?
