:T Hi Guys
Could really do with some help.
I've recently bought a new Dell laptop with windows vista. I've had an ipod for 2 and a half years. Its got a ton of music on it all of which was put on there by using a purchased cd then importing it into itunes and then transferring onto my ipod.
Trouble is my old pc is dead. I connected my ipod to my new laptop. installed the latest software download. yet i cant see any of the music on my ipod. if i press the play button then it will play the music thats on my ipod randomly. The Itunes does recognize my Ipod and gives me a summary of it. but under the music tab it doesnt have an option to view the files.
Any ideas how i can see the music files on my ipod?
thanks
sorry if its a really stupid question but its really frustrating!!!

If your Ipod is plugged into your PC, then you should be using your PC to navigate through your stored music files.
If your Ipod is unplugged from the PC then you should see your stored music in your Ipod.
If this is not the case, then I am aware of issues with VISTA and Ipods which is currently being looked at.
Have a look through the various Ipod communities as I imagine your not alone.0 -

Does anybody know how to transfer the music that is on the ipod over to my new laptop? Most of the music that is on my ipod was imported onto my old pc from cd and i cant be bothered importing from cd again as it takes so long!! Any ideas would be great

If you still have your old PC/laptop, you can load the iTunes file onto a flash drive then flash it on to your new machine.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0

It's worth reading this, as well:

Download media monkey, excellent for doing things that Itunes wont allow. If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0
