Ryanairs German Staff

Recently I flew on four Ryanair flights. I know the rules regarding the 10 kg limit on cabin baggage & accept that a couple of kilos over brings basically a fine of €60.
Now being a baby boomer I have found my attitude warming to the Germans over the years. Anyway there I was in Dusseldorf airport watching all the Germans passing through the Ryanair control area without needing to have their wheeled trolleys weighed. In fact not at any time did I see any request for a German passenger to put their hand luggage on the scales over a period of 20 minutes.
Yes, you can guess the rest. My British passport was presented to the desk girl & she asked me to put my littel trolley on the scales. I accept my punishment but seriously consider the incident to be attributed to my passport (& face probably).
Still, we live & continue to learn. Furthermore I always prefer to travel with German passemgers, the British more often than not act like two year olds.

You should have mentioned to them that your Grandad flew to Dusseldorf many times with work, never landed though.0

The Germans even stamped my passport last time I left,
to be sure I'd gone I suppose.0 -
Thats funny! Good heads up. We went Ryanair to Sicily and on the way home my son tried to take back the fishing rod he had bought-he was 7 but they tried to confiscate it. This Scilian woman who had her suitcase and a huge garment carrier and a hat box persuaded them to let her out it in her garment carrier -as there seemed no luggage limits for her-it was nice of her of course!
Pity Uk staff dont cut us any slack. I've watched people take the stuff out their case and put it all one-quite funny to watch.0 -

Change the nationality to Spanish/ Irish/ English/ Moroccan etc and you will find someone with the same story. Of course it would not be a problem if everyone was able to follow simple instructions ...0 -
