Feedback from EA (whilst selling)?

Do you expect your EA to provide feedback on each viewing? Or am I being too precious (finding that I have to chase EA for feedback)? Do people just accept "no news is bad news" and not particularly worry about "why?"?
EA is Knight Frank and it is a pretty expensive property (not that it should make a difference).

We are selling , and to be honest , feedback unless its constructive , as in , the price needs looking at , or heres an offer , means little , i do get annoyed when i have to chase , but if theres no news , what are they going to tell you that helps?
They all say they will give you weekly updates etc but in reality , it doesnt really happen that wayNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
You might find your gripe is with the viewers, not the EA. A lot of people refuse to leave feedback (many on here admit to that too).
One EA I used to sell used to say three strikes and out (they'd chase 3 times for feedback, then give up).
If someone's keen to buy a house, they shouldn't really need 'chasing'. As above, most feedback isn't that constructive!

An example of when feedbak gets you down , our EA said they had a couple interested who had their house on the market , i chased for feedback on this couple , because i noticed their house had come under offer , the manager at the EA told me they would have offered x amount under our AP , i said to him you should have told me , as i could have had a discussion at my end , i told the EA to go back to this couple and say we werent a million miles apart and to have a discussion at the price they wanted to pay.......
Lo and behold , have heard not a thing since , was about 5 weeks ago , so in my mind i`m thinking the whole charade was complete balls from the EA anyway!!!
The onyl feedback i want is an offer really, i cant really change anything elseNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Our EA is quite good, they call us a few days after the viewing even if they have no feed back just say "we have been chasing so and so but haven't had a response"
But yes if someone is interested then they don't need chasing! Feed back is only helpful if its honest feed back, and the EA has the bulls to then pass on that honest feed back. Saying "Oh its lovely, but we want a bath, not a shower" is not particularly helpful and its just annoying since it says on the description we only have a shower room!0 -
Feedback is pointless unless it is blunt and constructive.
Too pricey, its a sh1thole, rubbish area etc.
People don't want to be harsh and so they leave some wet response that is made up as to why they don't want a second viewing or an offer.
We left feedback that was honest twice in our search, after that we declined and just said we won't be making an offer as it wasn't worth the hassle.Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -
I have to be honest I have seen about a dozen properties recently and only one estate agent actually asked me for feedback. I was happy to be honest.
I generally agree that if people like it enough to offer you will hear and that's all most people want to hear.0 -
Thanks, so I am being precious
You are right, generally the feedback is about things that we cannot do anything about - namely "garden not child friendly enough" or "access drive too steep". Everyone loves the house itself.
However the viewing before last was "loved the house, but want to find out more about the area first" (which is more useful).
I guess that viewings are such a pain in the backside (especially having a young child - a high speed demolition and "mess making" expert...), it is nice to have some acknowledgement (from the estate agent) about what happened at the viewing.
You are correct, though, the EA will contact us - within 15 minutes of the viewing - if an offer is likely to be made. We had one, but it fell through (the buyer's buyer couldn't get finance and dropped out after the poor buyer did a full survey...).
