Incapacity and Permitted work

I know there's been a couple of threads on this but just wanted to 'test' the waters of opinions so to speak.
I'm on incapacity benefit due to stress, complicated story as to why its IC and not SSP but I am no longer employed.
One main cause of the stress was my working conditions, I worked in some awful schools and was physically attacked twice and verbaly abused several times.
My GP doesn't think I can go back into this area of work for some time and also doesn't think that I can do f/t work at all right now.
A job has come up locally, lower pay etc and only 14hrs in a supportive environment. I'd like to go for it but could this come under 'permitted work?'.
I'm also concerned about what would happen if I started it and found it was too much too soon.

Hi as an adviser within JCP (Jobcentre Plus) the first port of call would be to speak to your local jobcentre incapacity adviser. They will try to support you back into work and maybe able to help with travel costs and expenses.
This is not my area of expertise as I usually take new claims but there is a big push to try and help long term sick back into work check out the following link to see if it will help:

best thing to do is speak to a specialist adviser in the Jobcentre.I know there's been a couple of threads on this but just wanted to 'test' the waters of opinions so to speak.
