Assigned Residents Space Without Displayed Permit

Looking for advice on what to do after coming to my car to find a parking charge stuck on my windscreen this morning.
I have been renting in a gated complex for the last 3 months, flat comes with an assigned parking space which I was in but the parking permit was obscured on my dash by my tax disc (which was also on my dash instead of in a holder, as I recently had my windscreen replaced).
"Charge" is for £90 bought down to £50 if paid within 14 days. I haven't done anything so far as I didn't want to start without having all the facts of the best course of action to take. I have read things about ignoring the charge or appealing under PoPLA, interested to hear advice on my specific circumstances and whether I am likely to have to pay this...

Which company is it that left litter on your car?
Also, what does it say in your lease regarding parking?0 -
Somewhere there has to be a sign expressing the 'parking conditions' and contravention 'Penalties'. That would need to be there for any non residents.
What precisely does it state re displaying parking permits?0 -

I've got the same problem - well, almost. I own the lease to my flat, which comes with an allocated parking space. I received a parking ticket from UKPC for being parked in the space whilst NOT displaying a parking permit (the scrappy piece of vinyl had curled up and fallen off onto the floor).
I appealed and was turned down, and now I have to appeal through POPLA or pay UKPC £15.
I really object to paying this charge. Is it legally enforceable? None of my neighbours are sure.0 -

It's your lucky day then.
Lease trumps scammers.
Appeal to popla - with guidance, and cost the scammers £27.
That's a result.0 -
What would be my next course of action assuming I don't get any help from my tenancy agreement, or can't get hold of my landlords lease etc (or it doesn't help me)?0

Whatever happens, you won't be paying.0 -

P.S. Make sure all your neighbours know it's a scam, and get UKPC thrown out.0 -
I have spoken with my landlord and all she was able to give me was the letter sent by the management company when the private parking company was employed explaining the rules and regulations of the new system etc.
She said that there wasn't anything in any other documentation relating to her ownership of the flat regarding the parking space.
I have yet to look at the signs in the car park, will try and do that tonight.
Anyone any advice about where I go from here?0
