Hello,
I need help in setting up my daughter's new Galaxy Ace phone!
I am wanting help with the internet bit. It is a pay-as-you-go phone. I am happy for her to access the internet over wifi, but don't want to be paying for it when no wifi is available. I have set it up to our home wifi, and it seems to be working fine.
1) How do I turn off the 'normal internet'? I am assuming it is something to do with 'settings' and 'mobile networks'.
2) what is "use packet data"? what does that mean??
3) what is "data roaming"??
4) what is "use only 2G networks"?? it says it saves battery if you use 2G, but what is it and what are the downsides of using it?
5) I assume if I leave wifi on, it will use a lot of battery power. Is there a way of creating a shortcut icon thing for the main screen - so you can turn wifi on and off quicker?
6) is there a parental control setting at all? for example to restrict viewing of over 18 stuff, like on the iPod?
Sorry for all the questions! Many thanks!

By default the handset will always try to find a 3G connection, by selecting "use only 2G" you simply stop the handset from searching for a 3G signal.5) I assume if I leave wifi on, it will use a lot of battery power. Menu > Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced > "Keep Wi-Fi On During Sleep" gets set to "Never".
You will see a warning that this can increase data usage, however if you have automatic updates disabled then it shouldn't be a problem.6) is there a parental control setting at all? for example to restrict viewing of over 18 stuff, like on the iPod?
If they are using Wi-Fi (including the Cloud), then it's pretty much open season unless you install a 3rd party solution.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0
