I'm on a meter with Budget, I imagine they'll not be far behind. Can I top up lots now and avoid the increase ? . You get a longer code to change tariff don't you ?

I'll be topping up as much as possible before the increase, as you say Budget and Airtricity won't be far behind, I would top up 2 weeks before the increase or so to be safe. New top up code will be a 40 digit code to tell the meter to change.
I did this at the end of 2011 thanks to someone on here posting the change date, hopefully that info will be available again here too. I managed to get nearly 3 months cheaper leccy before having to top up again.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
We use approx £50 a month at the minute. Last time we topped up by £150 to get the £4 free. Will be due to top up at the start of June anyway, so we may top up an extra time before July too!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

Longer code to change tarriff will be issued for top-ups from June 18th.0 -
I imagine if you top up by thousands you should be able to remain on the lower tarriff for quite some timeWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

Due to paying by DD and accepting paperless billing we've been getting 20% discount and actually have a surplus of funds of about £40. It's annoying to think it's going to be wiped out by this rise. I thought there was some stablility at the moment.0
