Claim against me for personal injury

I had a bump about 3weeks ago, and the other driver is now claiming injury to her neck, back and shoulders which I think is false. The accident happened when I pulled out onto a main road across a couple of lanes of traffic, to go right. Traffic was clear to my right and a car stopped in the line of traffic to my left to let me out. I needed to be in the left hand lane, and paused in front of the car that let me out to make sure I had room to manoeuvre into the next lane (the left hand lane) without scraping the car to my right. As I pulled forward, a car I hadn't seen coming along that lane hit me. Now as I was the one entering the lane the other car was already in, I've been advised I'll be held at fault. However, the lane she was in was a bus lane until about 6ft before the spot of the collision, and at that time of day she shouldn't have been in it. I'm now not sure where I stand as either she was driving along the bus lane illegally, or she had gone into that lane literally feet away from my car so couldn't have been going at any speed to cause injury. What I actually think happened is that she popped out of the line of queuing traffic to nip down the bus lane before she should, not xpecting anyone to come from her right. The damage to her vehicle is very minor (tiny dent to wheel arch and scuffs on her wheel).
What makes it worse is her legal firm represented my boyfriend a few weeks ago when he was in an accident, and they were really pushing him to claim injury. He went to the physio at their request for who falsely recorded his pain level as worse than he said, which made him uneasy and he insisted the claim be dropped. This lady has a witness from the scene, and a dodgy legal firm, so I'm really worried that if I fight the claim I'll lose, even though I'm sure it's fraudulent. Any advice?!

Don't worry.
If you are found liable for the incident then your insurer will pay any justifiable compensation.
Just pass on all correspondence you get unanswered to your insurer and let them deal with everything.0 -
wow... this sounded very familiar. I was involved in a similar incident apart from the bus lane part and the fact that I was hit.
At the timeI didnt feel a thing and even said to the insurance company I didnt want to claim for personal injury. However after 2 hours in bed post night shift I found my neck shoulders and back were very sore and stiff.
The whole point of this long post is to say that it may not always present immediately and can take some time.
However I would also agree with Quentin. Just pass the details to your insurers and let them deal with it. It makes no difference to you at all. (also from experience...)0
