Has anyone ever found out why The Perfume Shop want to see a copy of driving licence or passport when you're picked as a winner?

I'd struggle with this as I can't drive or travel abroad for medical reasons. I could understand it if the prize were something huge, like a car or holiday, but for perfume?!

I had a win with the perfume shop recently and the WEM said I needed to provide proof that I was over 18. I used my passsport but it could have been a driving licence , birth cert or anything else that showed your DOB

Ah ok, maybe I've mis-read it then. I thought it said photo ID.

Im pretty certain it just requested proof of age , unless of course they have changed it. My win was only 2/3 weeks ago and I definitely remember Birth cert being on the list of options because I was trying to decide which one of the two to use.

My WEM that I got in January from Naomi at The Perfume Shop said that it needed photo ID

Please attach a scanned or photographed copy of a photo ID confirming you are 16 years of age or over. As stated in the Ts & Cs this is required to claim your prize.

I won with them a little while back and explained I had no passport or drivers licence, and they let me take a photo of my birth certificate and e.mail that to them, so it's worth asking.

It might be because perfume tends to contain alcohol. Just a long shot though!
