hsbc being difficult

My mother had banked with hsbc for many years and had several loans and mortgages over this time. She now banks elsewhere and wanted to claim back her ppi with hsbc so contacted them for her old account details and they are saying they cant find her accounts. What can she do?

asking for mortgage details is usually pointless. MPPI is standalone with lenders and not single premium inclusive.

Lenders do destroy data over time. Especially on closed accounts. So how long ago is she talking about?

She can pay £10 and do a DSAR but there is no guarantee as to what she will get back. Again, time is the issue. The further back you go, the less that will exist.
