Funeral Flowers

I paid for some flowers for myUncles Funeral last Thursday via the telephone with my debit card. The funeral is tomorrow and about 5.30 this evening I received a phonecall from the florist telling me that the money hasn't gone into their account and was their a problem. I know their wasn't a problem as I checked my account yesterday and it shows the payment has been taken . Florist said not to worry she would check her "Broadband" and if she still had a problem she would contact me. As soon as I got off the phone I checked with my bank and online and both the bank and my online account confirm it has been paid. I'm just worried that their will be no flowers tomorrow from us when we attend the funeral.

Any help gratefully received

Did you pay direct to the florist, or through a 3rd party such as Interflora?

Well if you can see the debit then the retailer needs to resolve with their bank.
As retailer TAKES the funds from your account. Not YOUR bank sending it to them.

Can you make a screenshot of your bank statement and email it to the florist?

Hope it all works out as expected for you tomorrow.

Did as you suggested innovate and florist has rung me to explain somehow my order turned into 2 orders? But everything was now sorted? So panic over! I just hope the flowers live up to all the hassle!

Sounds like the florist is slightly disorganised - - just watch out that they don't charge you a second time.

    Take care
  • If you have paid them over the phone, they should have received the money instantly unlike the online card payment where the money is allocated first and then the retailer accepts the payment if he/she is satisfied with the security checks. If this is a good florist they should sort this out quickly. These days, it takes only a single to their bank to see what is happening.
